Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has been summoned to Abuja by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a crisis during the party’s congress in the state.

The unrest reportedly led to the death of three people, injuries to several party leaders, and significant damage to vehicles and other property, escalating tensions within the party.

In response to the invitation, Governor Aiyedatiwa arrived in Abuja on Thursday and remains in the Federal Capital Territory to brief the party’s national leadership and answer questions regarding the situation in Ondo State.

The APC leadership is expected to engage the governor on the causes of the violence, steps taken by the state government to manage the fallout, and measures to prevent further escalation.

The crisis has generated concern among party members and residents, prompting calls for a thorough review of the congress process and efforts to restore stability within the party structure in Ondo State.
