
The Osun State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has elected a new executive council to pilot the party’s affairs, following its state congress held on Saturday at the Sogbadero Campaign Office, opposite Omidiran Garden along Bike Road in Osogbo.
The outcome of the congress was disclosed in a statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Akinlade Babatunde S., who confirmed that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were on ground to monitor the exercise.
At the end of the congress, Tayo Adeyemi emerged as the new state chairman of the AAC. He will be supported by three deputy chairmen: Julius Adeniyi for the central district, Abolude Abass for the east, and Oyewole Asiyanbi for the west.
Ganiyu Olanrewaju was elected as the general secretary, while Akinlade Babatunde S. retained his role as publicity secretary. The congress also produced Yinka Orisadare as organizing secretary and Adedeji O. Afeez as treasurer.
Other elected officers include Salahuden Ayo as youth leader, Afolabi Toyeeb as auditor, and Olusoji Titus as financial secretary. The women’s wing will be headed by Adeleke Orisadare.
The party stated that the newly constituted leadership has been vested with the mandate to drive the AAC’s mobilisation efforts and strengthen its political structure across Osun State ahead of upcoming electoral engagements.
