Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said “justice has been served” following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in an Israeli strike on Saturday.
In a statement issued Sunday, Katz said Khamenei was “thwarted in the opening strike of Operation ‘Lion’s Roar,’ along with other senior officials in the Iranian terror fortress.” He added, “Whoever acted to destroy Israel was destroyed.”
“Justice has been served, and the axis of evil has suffered a fatal blow,” the defense minister stated, describing the operation as a decisive action against Iran’s leadership.
Katz also praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his “leadership and determination,” and commended the Israel Defense Forces for what he called its “brilliant execution” of the mission.
“We will continue to act with all our might for the defense of the State of Israel,” Katz said, signaling that further military measures could follow as tensions in the region remain high.
