United States President Donald J. Trump on his social media account Twitter now known as “X” has announced the withdrawal of an invitation previously extended to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to participate in what he described as an elite international body known as the “Board of Peace.”
In a brief letter addressed to the Canadian leader, Trump stated that the Board of Peace had decided to rescind its invitation to Canada, which he said was to be part of what would have been “the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled.”
The letter did not provide specific reasons for the decision but made it clear that the invitation had been formally withdrawn. Trump concluded the message by thanking Prime Minister Carney for his attention to the matter.
The development adds to ongoing political tensions surrounding international leadership forums and raises questions about Canada’s future involvement in the proposed global initiative.
