The Commander, Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Tanimu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, to enhance joint service cooperation and personnel development.
Major General Abdullahi made this known while receiving the Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Ignatius Ilo, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals, Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, on Thursday.
He commended the Commandant for the visit and highlighted the strategic importance of NAFRC in preparing retiring and retired military personnel for a smooth transition into civilian life through vocational training, entrepreneurship and skills acquisition. According to him, such responsibilities align with the need for stronger inter-service synergy, particularly in today’s joint operational environment.
The CCS further noted that the Corps of Signals remains central to communication and ICT support within the Nigerian Army, adding that the Corps is open to productive partnerships with NAFRC and other institutions to improve capacity building and service delivery. He also praised Air Vice Marshal Ilo’s leadership qualities, describing him as a dedicated senior officer with strong concern for the welfare of his subordinates.
In his remarks, Air Vice Marshal Ilo thanked the CCS for the warm reception and recalled their long-standing professional relationship as coursemates and former colleagues at the Defence Headquarters. He expressed confidence that closer cooperation between both institutions would be mutually beneficial and pledged to deepen the partnership. The visit was marked by a quarter guard, exchange of plaques and a group photograph.
