The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the suspended South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.
The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest to TheCable on Saturday, September 26, 2026, saying Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8.
“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.
Tejuosho’s arrest came about five months after the anti-graft agency declared her wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud involving federal government appointments and contracts.
In April 2026, the EFCC declared the 41-year-old Lagos State indigene wanted over allegations that she obtained money from individuals by falsely claiming that she could secure federal government appointments and lucrative contracts for them.
The commission subsequently appealed to members of the public with information about her whereabouts to report to any of its offices nationwide, the nearest police station or other security agencies.
Tejuosho had previously been investigated by the EFCC following complaints from individuals who alleged that she collected money from them after promising to facilitate appointments and contracts in federal government establishments.
In June 2025, the commission interrogated her over the allegations. Investigators alleged that she used fake appointment letters and forged documents to convince some of her alleged victims that she had the capacity to secure government positions and contracts.
Tejuosho, who is also the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited, was subsequently granted administrative bail while the investigation continued.
The allegations later became linked to a separate prosecution involving Gidado Ibrahim. In February 2026, the EFCC arraigned Ibrahim before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja over an alleged N603.4 million job scam involving Tejuosho, who was then at large.
The amended six-count charge filed against Ibrahim included allegations of fraud, obtaining money under false pretences and forgery in connection with transactions reportedly carried out between August and October 2024.
The EFCC’s case centres on allegations that money was collected from individuals in connection with purported government appointments and contracts. The allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
Following Tejuosho’s declaration as wanted in April, the City Boy Movement announced her suspension as the South-West Zonal Coordinator of its women’s wing.
The movement said the suspension took immediate effect pending the outcome of the EFCC investigation.
According to the organisation, the decision was an administrative measure intended to protect its reputation, credibility and ethical standards while allowing the anti-graft agency to conduct its investigation without interference.
The City Boy Movement is a political advocacy organisation that supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
As of Saturday, September 26, the EFCC had confirmed that Tejuosho remained in its custody. The commission had not, however, announced a fresh arraignment following her September 8 arrest.
Tejuosho remains entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.
