The Special Adviser on Recreational and Sports Development, Barr. Babatunde Akintade Nelson (BUKLCKNOR), has hosted the former General Manager of Abuja Central Park, Mr. Momoh Mohammed, in a strategic meeting aimed at exploring areas of partnership for the development of recreational parks and community facilities across Gwagwalada Area Council.

The meeting focused on the need to create functional and accessible recreational spaces that would promote healthy living, provide opportunities for youth engagement, encourage community interaction and contribute to the social development of residents.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Momoh Mohammed stressed the importance of establishing recreational parks across the Area Council, noting that such facilities could provide residents with safe and conducive environments for relaxation, physical activities, social gatherings and other community-based programmes.

He also expressed the readiness of his team to collaborate with the Area Council and relevant stakeholders in advancing initiatives that would have a meaningful and lasting impact on the people of Gwagwalada.

The strategic discussion further focused on the proposed 100 Days Project of the present administration, particularly the planned Town Hall initiative.

The delegation suggested that recreational and leisure facilities should be incorporated into the Town Hall environment to transform it into a vibrant centre where residents can participate in community activities, relax, interact and engage with one another.

The proposal is expected to give the Town Hall project a broader community-development function by combining administrative and public engagement activities with recreational opportunities for residents.

Responding to the proposals, Barr. Babatunde Akintade Nelson commended Mr. Momoh Mohammed for his visionary approach and demonstrated commitment to community development.

The Special Adviser assured the delegation of his willingness to work closely with relevant stakeholders to translate the ideas discussed into tangible and sustainable projects.

He noted that the development of recreational facilities would go beyond entertainment, stressing that properly planned recreational spaces could strengthen community relationships, provide productive opportunities for young people and contribute to improved quality of life.

Barr. Nelson further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would enhance recreational development, promote sports and create more opportunities for residents of Gwagwalada Area Council to interact and participate in community activities.

The meeting is expected to open further discussions among stakeholders as efforts intensify towards developing recreational parks, leisure facilities and other community-oriented infrastructure within Gwagwalada Area Council.

The proposed partnership, if fully developed, could mark a significant step towards expanding recreational opportunities and strengthening community development initiatives across the Area Council.
