As delegates of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) converge for the 2026 national election, the Chief Executive Officer of Miss Amnesty Nigeria, Tracy McWary, has appealed to all contestants, delegates, and stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and uphold the spirit of unity throughout the electoral process.
In a message shared on her Facebook page ahead of the election, McWary emphasized the importance of peace, sportsmanship, and collective responsibility, urging all participants to place the interest of the Ijaw nation above personal ambitions.
She expressed optimism that the election would be free, fair, and credible, while calling on everyone involved to demonstrate maturity before, during, and after the exercise.
āI pray for a peaceful and successful outing today. May this election further unite us and inspire a brighter future for all,ā she stated.
McWary noted that the IYC remains a vital platform for promoting the aspirations of Ijaw youths and stressed that the outcome of the election should strengthen the bond among Ijaw communities rather than create divisions.
Her message comes as expectations remain high among Ijaw youths and stakeholders for a transparent and peaceful electoral process that will produce leaders committed to advancing the interests of the Ijaw people.
Observers have also continued to urge delegates and supporters to maintain peace, respect the outcome of the election, and work together in the interest of unity, development, and progress across Ijaw communities.
