The Israeli government has condemned the deadly attack in Kwara State that reportedly left more than 160 people dead, describing it as a horrific act of violence against innocent civilians.
In a statement shared on its official X handle on Friday, the Embassy of Israel in Nigeria expressed deep sympathy with the families of the victims and all those affected by the massacre, which is regarded as one of the deadliest attacks in Nigeria in recent years.
āThe Embassy of Israel in Nigeria condemns the horrific massacre in Kwara State, in which over 160 innocent people were brutally murdered,ā the statement said.
The Embassy described the killings as an affront to humanity, stressing that the deliberate targeting of civilians is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Israel also expressed solidarity with the Nigerian government and people, pledging support for efforts to confront insecurity and protect civilians.

The condemnation comes amid widespread local and international outrage over the attack, which reportedly occurred in a rural community in Kwara State, where armed assailants invaded on Tuesday, killing residents and setting houses ablaze.
Although details are still emerging, humanitarian organisations and local sources have placed the death toll at over 160, with fears that the figure could rise as several residents remain missing.
The massacre has renewed criticism of Nigeriaās deteriorating security situation, particularly in rural communities that remain vulnerable to attacks by armed groups.
