The media team of the Chairman-Elect of Gwagwalada Area Council has firmly debunked reports alleging that Hon. Kasim Mohammed has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, describing the claims as false, misleading, and politically motivated.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the #Kasim media team clarified that Hon. Kasim Mohammed remains a “proud, committed, and card-carrying member” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has neither held discussions nor shown any intention to defect.
“The rumor being peddled by desperate elements in the All Progressives Congress (APC) is nothing but cheap propaganda aimed at confusing the public,” the statement said. “There is no meeting, no negotiation, no plan, and no intention of defection.”
The media team accused those spreading the claims of attempting to undermine the democratic will of the people following the recent local council election. According to the statement, such misinformation is being driven by “mischief makers or politically threatened individuals who cannot accept the will of the people.”
Emphasizing the legitimacy of the mandate, the team noted that voters in Gwagwalada Area Council had spoken clearly at the polls, and that no amount of rumor-mongering could alter the outcome.
The statement further urged residents and stakeholders to disregard what it termed “baseless lies” and to focus on the pressing task of governance and service delivery to the people of Gwagwalada.
“Gwagwalada voters spoke loudly,” the media team concluded. “Our focus remains on delivering good governance and honoring the mandate freely given by the people.”
