Wizkid and Asake just released a collaborative project titled Real, Vol 1.
The four track EP has taken over the waves and social media trend in Africa, it has garnered wide acceptance and positive feedback thus far. The Entire EP is produced by Magic Sticks beat. Laced with street slangs, melodious flows and mid tempo beats, this music piece might be the soundtrack of 2026.
‎
‎The opening track, turbulence, is sonic braggadocio of the most creative African musical export affirming their foothold as kings of afrobeats, it is accompanied with a befitting video that is racking up views on YouTube. A good starter for sure!
‎
‎Jogodo, the second song on the EP is definitely a club banger, the captivating horn in the beginning will make any listener fixated until Asake’s signature slang laced melody starts to ride the dance percussions while wizkid crowns it with a catchy chorus. This one might be the DJ’s favourite and club of lagos has found a new anthem.
‎
‎Track 3, iskolodo, is a brighter extension of the vibe jogodo gives, self praises, lamba, lust for women and good life, one for the road for sure, it perfectly encapsulates the jolly baller life music Wizkid and Asake hope to exude with this project. Magic sticks’ flawless play on keyboard in the intro, the saxophone in the background of the first part of chorus and rock guitar at the end of the song makes it more memorable.
‎
‎The last track, Alaye, is definitely the peak of the project, Alaye which means “big man or “rich man” serves as a call for full fledged affluent happy hour. Producer, magic stick stripped down the beat almost naked for wizkid vocals to usher listeners into the grand entry while crazy drum rolls cue in other elements till they creep in gradually to match the delivery.
Alaye has the best beat on the project, at a point it mimics the melody of the artistes in call and response like manner without any vocals. ‎The young producer, Magic sticks beats, definitely understands minimalism and symmetry of musical artistry. Real Ep is immaculate as expected, coming from the most talented and best selling singers in the world at the moment. The addictive recipe of this offering will make it a party classic for DJs and Afrobeat afficionados in the long run! The Real EP is Real.
