A combined security team under Operation Fansan Yanma has apprehended a woman in Malumfashi, Katsina State, for allegedly being in possession of military gear and three fully loaded magazines.

The arrest reportedly occurred around 1:00 am at a routine security checkpoint, where the woman’s movements raised suspicion as she attempted to exit the town.

Upon conducting a thorough search of her luggage, troops discovered several military-related items. These included a military uniform, camouflage trousers, a tactical vest, and three loaded ammunition magazines. Multiple mobile phones and other suspicious items linked to security operations were also recovered.

Officials revealed that the military items were discreetly packed and hidden within her travel bag in a manner that appeared deliberately evasive.

A security source, posting Monday evening via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, confirmed that the woman is now in custody. She is being subjected to intensive interrogation while further investigations are ongoing to uncover the extent of her involvement and possible collaborators.

Although the authorities have not yet disclosed her name or confirmed any formal affiliations, insiders close to the investigation suggest she could be part of a wider network suspected of supplying weapons and military paraphernalia to terror groups operating in the region.
