The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily shut down its recruitment portal to address technical issues arising from the high number of applicants.
This decision was made public on Wednesday through a statement signed by the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General AM Jibril. He confirmed that the suspension affects ongoing applications to all four paramilitary agencies under the CDCFIB umbrella.
According to Jibril, the portal will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025. The temporary closure, he said, is to allow for system upgrades that will improve performance and ensure a better user experience. He emphasized that the upgrade is crucial to managing the overwhelming number of submissions and maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
The Board acknowledged the overwhelming interest shown by Nigerians in joining the services and assured the public of its dedication to conducting a fair, efficient, and merit-based recruitment.
“We are encouraged by the passion and patriotism demonstrated by Nigerian youths wishing to serve in these critical agencies,” the statement said. “The board remains fully committed to a recruitment process that upholds transparency and fairness.”
The recruitment pause affects the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Applicants have been advised to stay alert and be ready to complete their applications once the portal resumes operation on July 21.
