The Chairman of Katcha Local Government Area in Niger State, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku, has passed away following a fatal motor accident on the Minna-Suleja-Abuja road.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, as Saku was en route to Abuja for an official engagement.
Confirming the incident in a statement on Wednesday, the Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muazu Hamidu Jantabo, expressed profound sadness over the loss.
Jantabo described the late Saku as a dedicated leader whose efforts towards the growth of Katcha Local Government will not be forgotten. He said, “Hon. Saku was a committed leader whose dedication and service to the development of Katcha Local Government will be remembered for years to come.”
He added, “It is with deep sorrow but total submission to the will of Allah that I, on behalf of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and people of Katcha Local Government Area over the sudden and tragic loss of their Chairman, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku.”
The news of Saku’s passing has left many in Niger State mourning the loss of a leader who was admired for his dedication to his people.
