In a tragic incident, five individuals, including two brothers and a woman, were found dead on Saturday in a room in Uzairue, located within the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Reports indicate that the discovery was made under unsettling circumstances, as all five were found unresponsive in a single room. The grim scene was uncovered when family members became worried after realizing the group had not left their room.
Among the deceased were two brothers, while the other three were identified as their friends. The unexpected deaths have led to speculation about possible causes, with initial insights pointing toward generator fumes or food poisoning.
Local authorities, including the Auchi Area Commander and the DPO of Jattu Police Station, stated that it is too early to determine the cause, stressing that a thorough investigation is ongoing.
SP Moses Yamu, spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, confirmed the incident and reassured the public that all efforts are being made to uncover the reason behind these unfortunate deaths. “The command is aware, but investigation to unravel the cause of death is ongoing,” Yamu stated.
