The Edo State government has advised residents in flood-prone areas to relocate to safer grounds to avoid potential crises. In a statement from Benin City, the Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Uwagbale, announced that the government has provided N300 million worth of relief materials to assist those affected by the flooding.

He urged residents not to wait until the situation worsens before seeking safety, highlighting the importance of early action. The governor specifically called on people in vulnerable areas, including Etsako East, Etsako Central, Esan South East, Ubiaja, and Illushi, to move to the prepared IDP camps set up to accommodate them.
