The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Bolaji Olugbenga, who was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Ijanikin Police Station. CSP Olugbenga reportedly collapsed inside his office on Thursday evening and was later declared dead.
The Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident during a press briefing on Friday night. However, he did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the officer’s sudden death. According to reports, the DPO collapsed in his office and passed away before medical assistance could reach him.
The announcement of CSP Olugbenga’s passing has left officers at the Ijanikin Police Station in deep sorrow.
A source within the division revealed that the officer’s remains have since been moved to a mortuary.
