South Africa’s Deputy President, Paul Mashatile, collapsed on Saturday afternoon while attending a public event in Limpopo. The incident occurred in Tzaneen, where Mashatile was addressing the crowd during a ceremony to inaugurate a local traditional leader.

According to reports from the Limpopo provincial government, the deputy president was struggling with the intense heat during his speech. Fortunately, Mashatile is now in stable condition. Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, the province’s premier and a medical doctor, confirmed that Mashatile is not in any danger. She reassured the public that he is receiving care from his medical team.

Speaking on the incident, Ramathuba said, “The Deputy President is fine and is currently with his medical team. I was present with them, and there is no need for concern.”

Mashatile was promptly attended to after collapsing due to the heat and is now recovering well.
