A tragic incident occurred along the Cappa/Oshodi railway route in Lagos State on Monday evening, resulting in the death of an unidentified man. The accident took place around 6 p.m., directly opposite the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) response base in Cappa.

The victim, who was reportedly walking along the railway track, was struck by an oncoming train. Sadly, he did not survive the impact and was found dead on the scene.

Nosa Okunbor, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at LASEMA, confirmed the fatality in a statement released on Monday. He reported that the man died instantly due to the force of the collision.

Okunbor stated, “Following a distress call about a train accident along the railway line opposite the LASEMA Response Base in Cappa at approximately 6:00 p.m., the agency deployed its Eagle Response Team. Upon arriving at the scene, we found an adult male, who had been walking along the railway track, dead from the impact of the collision.”

Further investigations by the LASEMA Response Team revealed that the man, who was partially dressed, was unidentified at the time of the incident. His body was bagged by the response team while awaiting the arrival of officials from the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transfer to the morgue.
