Alhaji Saāidu Mujeli, the village head of Lafagu in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has reportedly been killed by suspected bandits following an attack on the community.
Mujeli was reportedly killed on Saturday when the armed attackers invaded the community, according to a local source who spoke about the incident.
The attack has reportedly triggered a mass displacement of residents, particularly those living around the Kaoje-Lafagu area, with many fleeing their homes and relocating to Bagudo town for safety.

The source further alleged that the recent violence was part of a wider pattern of attacks targeting communities in the area, particularly members of the Fulani community.
According to the source, several Fulani residents have reportedly been killed in previous attacks, with the violence allegedly extending to traditional rulers in the affected communities.
āMore Fulani have been killed than you can imagine. Even the Emir of Lafagu, they did not spare him; they slaughtered him,ā the source alleged.
The reported killing of Mujeli has heightened concerns over the safety of residents in the affected communities, amid fears that continued attacks could lead to further displacement and loss of lives.
Residents have called on the Kebbi State Government and relevant security agencies to urgently intervene, protect communities and ensure that those responsible for the reported killings are brought to justice.
