Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in the United Kingdom on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in connection with sexual assault charges.

The court has confirmed that Poco Lee will appear for plea and trial preparation, where he is expected to indicate whether he is guilty or not guilty of the charges against him.

The development comes amid reports circulating on social media that the entertainer is in the custody of UK authorities over sexual assault allegations against him.

According to a statement from Snaresbrook Crown Court obtained by BBC News Pidgin, Poco Lee has been scheduled to appear before the court on September 15 for proceedings relating to the case.

A Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, had earlier confirmed on his X page that Poco Lee was in the custody of UK authorities.

Kuti also said he would attend the court proceedings as part of his support for the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom.

He said his presence was intended to “ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life.”

The development has generated reactions among Nigerians on social media, particularly because of Poco Lee’s prominence in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

However, the allegations against the entertainer have not been established as fact, and the case remains before the UK court. Poco Lee is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a competent court.

Poco Lee is a Nigerian dancer, hype man, MC and entertainer who became widely recognised for his energetic street-dance performances.

He was born on October 21, 1996, and hails from Orlu in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, although he was raised in the Ojo area of Lagos State.

Poco Lee gained widespread recognition around 2018 after a video of him performing Zanku and legwork went viral.

Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile subsequently noticed his talent and worked with him, an association that helped establish Poco Lee as one of Nigeria’s most recognisable dancers.

He later performed alongside prominent Nigerian artistes including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Naira Marley.

Poco Lee subsequently expanded his career beyond dancing into music and performance, with songs including “YARD” and “Otilo.”

His official website describes him as a dancer, hype man and cultural connector.

He studied Microbiology at Lagos State University (LASU).

Poco Lee is regarded as one of the Nigerian entertainers who helped take street dance from Lagos into mainstream Nigerian pop culture, particularly during the Zanku era.

His scheduled appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15 is expected to mark a significant stage in the legal proceedings, with the court set to hear his plea and address matters relating to trial preparation.
