The candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, has been declared winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election after securing 511,067 votes in the final results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The declaration was made during the final collation of results in Osun State on Sunday morning, bringing the official counting process to an end and confirming Adeleke as the candidate with the highest number of votes recorded in the election.

Adeleke’s victory came after a closely watched and highly contentious electoral process that generated intense political activity, allegations and controversies across the state as voters went to the polls.

The APC candidate, Oyebanji, polled 444,815 votes, finishing behind Adeleke, who secured a margin of 66,252 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate recorded 17,180 votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) secured 1,458 votes.

According to the final figures announced by INEC, 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 voters were accredited to participate in the exercise.
