The #EndBadGovernance Movement in Lagos State has called on Nigerians to mobilise for a one-day nationwide protest over worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and government policies under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement issued on April 10, 2026, and signed by leaders including Hassan Taiwo Soweto and Oloye Adegboyega Adeniji, the group said rising violence and economic challenges had pushed millions of Nigerians into suffering.
It accused authorities of failing to adequately respond to repeated attacks in states such as Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, Zamfara, Borno, and Kwara, where communities have reportedly been affected by armed violence.
The group also criticised the administration’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and rising energy costs, arguing that these policies have worsened inflation, poverty, and business closures across the country.
According to the movement, the situation reflects a broader governance crisis, alleging that political leaders have become disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary citizens.
It further faulted public officials for their handling of recent attacks, citing visits to affected communities that it described as inadequate or symbolic rather than meaningful intervention.
Calling for unity across labour unions, student groups, traders, and civil society organisations, the group said the planned protest would be peaceful and coordinated nationwide across state capitals.
It added that consultations are ongoing to determine a date for the demonstration, which it described as a collective response to what it termed worsening national conditions.
The group urged Nigerians to participate actively, describing the planned action as a “defining moment” for citizens to demand accountability and reform.
