The United States Secret Service has announced a new recruitment campaign for its Uniformed Division, offering incentives of up to $75,000 to attract qualified candidates.
The agency disclosed the opportunity in a notice shared on its official page on X (formerly Twitter), outlining requirements, responsibilities and benefits for prospective applicants.
According to the agency, applicants must be U.S. citizens aged between 20 and 40, possess a valid driver’s licence, and successfully pass medical, background and security checks, including eligibility for top secret clearance.
Personnel in the Uniformed Division are tasked with protecting key government facilities such as the White House, the Vice President’s residence at the United States Naval Observatory, and the United States Department of the Treasury Building.
They also provide security support for the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, and visiting foreign dignitaries. Officers may be deployed to specialised units, including counter-sniper, emergency response and K-9 teams.
The recruitment process includes exams, interviews, background investigations and physical fitness assessments. Successful candidates will undergo training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers before advancing to further instruction at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
The agency noted that the $75,000 incentive will be paid in instalments over four years, subject to completion of training and continued service. Annual salaries for new recruits range from $77,987 to $134,165, depending on experience.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the agency’s workforce and enhance security around critical U.S. government facilities and leadership.
