Nigerian Nollywood actor, movie producer and director, Austin Emmanuel, has declared support for the presidential ambition of human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) candidate, Omoyele Sowore, describing him as a voice for the people and a symbol of courage in the fight for justice.

Emmanuel made his position known in a post published on his Facebook page on Saturday, where he praised Sowore’s activism and advocacy on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians.

The actor said Sowore’s activities had inspired conversations about justice, freedom, accountability and the future of Nigeria, stressing the need for a country where citizens’ rights are protected and political leaders are held accountable for their actions.

Describing Sowore as a voice for the people, Emmanuel highlighted the importance of building a nation where the welfare of citizens takes priority, justice is accessible to all, and every Nigerian can live with dignity and hope.

“Omoyele Sowore is known for his activism and his outspoken advocacy on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians. His work has inspired many conversations about justice, freedom, accountability, and the future of our country,” Emmanuel wrote.

The actor further stated that Nigerians deserved a country where citizens could freely express their opinions, vulnerable people were protected, and public officials remained accountable to the people they were elected to serve.

“As Nigerians, we all want a nation where every citizen’s voice matters, where the vulnerable are protected, and where leaders are accountable to the people,” he stated.

Emmanuel added that his support for Sowore was rooted in his desire for a Nigeria where citizens’ welfare would come before privilege and where access to justice would not be determined by an individual’s social or economic status.

“I stand for a Nigeria where the people’s welfare comes first, where justice is not reserved for the privileged, and where every Nigerian can live with dignity and hope,” he wrote.

The Nollywood actor subsequently made his support for Sowore’s presidential ambition explicit, declaring, “OMOYELE SOWORE FOR PRESIDENT!”

He also called on Nigerians to continue expressing their convictions and participating in efforts to build a better country.

“Let us continue to speak up, stand for our beliefs, and work towards a better Nigeria,” Emmanuel added.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate and prominent human rights activist, is widely known for his criticism of successive Nigerian administrations and his campaigns for accountability, good governance, civil liberties and respect for fundamental human rights.

Emmanuel’s declaration adds to the public endorsements and expressions of political support for Sowore as the AAC candidate continues to promote his vision for Nigeria.
