Social media personality Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, has reportedly been rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja over a breast-related health concern amid her continued detention by the police over TikTok posts linked to Seyi Tinubu’s alleged girlfriend.
A source familiar with the development disclosed on Saturday that Jaruma was taken to the hospital by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) after her condition reportedly required medical attention.
Her reported hospitalisation has raised concerns about her health and welfare, particularly as she remains in police custody over social media publications concerning an alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and a woman Jaruma described as one of his girlfriends.
According to the source, who visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, she was informed upon arrival that Jaruma was no longer at the facility because the IPO had taken her to the hospital shortly before her visit.
The source called for urgent intervention to ensure that Jaruma receives appropriate medical attention and that her welfare is prioritised while the police investigation continues.
“I have just been informed that she was rushed to the National Hospital because of a breast-related health concern reportedly linked to her prolonged detention.
“I am currently at FCID, but she is not here. I was told that the IPO took her to the hospital a short while ago. This development is deeply concerning. We need the necessary intervention to ensure her health and welfare are prioritised,” the source said.
The development comes days after Jaruma was reportedly detained over her TikTok publications concerning the alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu and the woman she identified as his girlfriend.
The case has attracted attention because of its connection to the President’s son, although available court documents do not establish that Seyi Tinubu personally ordered Jaruma’s arrest or detention.
Jaruma’s reported hospitalisation has also brought renewed attention to the administrative bail conditions imposed on her by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
Documents obtained in connection with the case showed that the police required two sureties before she could secure administrative bail.
One of the sureties must reportedly be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15, while the other must be a business owner with landed property within the Federal Capital Territory.
The requirements also include identification documents, National Identification Number slips, passport photographs, and relevant employment or business records.
Sources familiar with the matter alleged that the conditions had proved difficult to meet, raising concerns about how quickly Jaruma could secure her release from custody.
The circumstances surrounding the bail requirements have generated further questions about her continued detention, particularly as concerns mount over her reported medical condition.
A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026, indicated that the Inspector-General of Police had initiated criminal proceedings against Jaruma under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, as amended in 2024.
The allegations centre on her purported use of TikTok to transmit messages described as abusive, alongside allegedly false claims and videos concerning Rayan Ghassan Kamal, identified in the charge sheet as Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant.
The police allegations have not been established in court, and Jaruma remains entitled to the presumption of innocence pending the determination of the case.
The charge sheet does not identify Seyi Tinubu as the complainant or establish that he personally directed the police to arrest or detain Jaruma.
Meanwhile, the reported transfer of the social media personality to the National Hospital has shifted attention to her immediate medical needs and the circumstances surrounding her continued detention.
Details regarding the precise nature and severity of her breast-related health concern, the treatment she is receiving, and her current medical condition were not immediately available.
The police had also not provided further details about her reported hospitalisation in the information available at the time of filing this report.
The development leaves questions about Jaruma’s health, access to medical care, and the next steps in the criminal proceedings against her, as public attention continues to focus on the case involving social media publications linked to Seyi Tinubu’s alleged girlfriend.
