The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to make the Preliminary Register of Voters for the 2027 general elections available online following concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders about public access.

In a press statement issued on October 26, 2026, the commission said the physical display of the register had been conducted nationwide at Registration Areas from October 9 to 15, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026.

INEC said the online publication would allow wider access to the same preliminary register previously displayed physically. The register can be accessed through its platform at display.inecnigeria.org.

The commission added that it is still processing claims and objections submitted during the exercise ahead of the certification and publication of the Final Register of Voters, scheduled for December 15, 2026.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and the implementation of the Electoral Act as preparations continue for the 2027 general elections.
