The Anambra State Government has awarded a ₦397.73 million contract for the remodelling of the Presidential Lodge at the Government House in Awka, according to procurement records reviewed by ChroniclesReporters.
The contract, listed under the state’s Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, is for the “Proposed Remodelling of Presidential Lodge at Government House, Awka Anambra State.”
Procurement records put the budget and contract value of the project at ₦397,730,556.86, with the contract awarded to O.BEN Developers Limited.
The contract was signed on June 26, 2026, with work scheduled to commence on June 27 and run for 121 days, ending on October 26, 2026.

In the latest incident in Awka, one person was reported missing while six children were rescued by emergency responders after heavy rainfall triggered flooding around Ring Road in Agu Awka.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, with floodwaters inundating parts of the area and disrupting movement.
Officials of the Awka South Local Government Area who were at the scene said the immediate situation had been brought under control, while emergency agencies continued with response operations.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) coordinated the rescue efforts.
The six rescued children were taken to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Amaku, Awka, for medical attention, while search operations continued for the person reported missing.
Videos from the scene showed significant flooding around Ring Road, with floodwaters covering portions of the area and affecting movement.
