President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the outcome of the governorship election as evidence that democracy will continue to flourish under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
Tinubu stated this in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President disclosed that he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him personally on his victory.
According to Tinubu, Adeleke’s re-election reflects the confidence placed in him by the people of Osun State and demonstrates the strength of democratic participation in the state.
The President commended the people of Osun for exercising their constitutional right to choose their governor through the ballot.
He also congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, political parties, candidates, election officials and other stakeholders who participated in the electoral process.
Tinubu said the outcome further underscored the importance of allowing Nigerians to freely determine their political leadership through credible elections.
He urged Governor Adeleke to see his re-election as a renewed mandate and a call to serve the people of Osun State with greater commitment.
The President also expressed hope that the governor would use his second term to deepen development and improve the welfare of residents across the state.
The congratulatory message comes after Adeleke emerged victorious in the closely watched Osun State governorship election, securing another term in office.
Tinubu’s statement adds a significant political dimension to the outcome, coming from the President and leader of the ruling APC, as the country continues to assess the conduct and results of the election.
