The Honourable Councillor representing Kutunku Ward, Hon. Ismaila Olayiwola, has continued his intervention in the provision of access to water with the restoration of two previously non-functional boreholes in different communities within the ward.
The first intervention involved the repair of the borehole located around ECWA Church, close to Late Hon. Zakari Shemaza Street in New Kutunku Community.
Residents said the borehole had remained out of service for several months, creating difficulties for members of the community who depended on the facility for their daily water needs.
The borehole was successfully repaired on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, bringing immediate relief to residents who expressed happiness over its restoration.
Residents of the community commended Hon. Ismaila Olayiwola for responding to their needs and prayed for a successful and impactful tenure throughout his time in office.
Barely three days later, the councillor, popularly known as Ola 1, also intervened in another water-related challenge by restoring the Danjule Rugan Fulani borehole in Kutunku Ward.
The borehole was fixed on Saturday, July 11, 2026, restoring access to water for residents of the Danjule Rugan Fulani community.
The two interventions have been described by residents as timely responses to pressing community needs, particularly in areas where access to functional water facilities remains essential to the wellbeing of residents.
The restoration of the facilities also reflects the growing expectations of constituents that elected representatives should respond directly to basic community needs and improve living conditions at the grassroots.
Residents of the affected communities expressed appreciation to Hon. Ismaila Olayiwola for the interventions, while calling for sustained attention to other infrastructural and developmental needs across Kutunku Ward.
