
The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. (Comrade) Kasim Mohammed, has formally transmitted the names of 15 political nominees to the Legislative Arm of the Council for screening and confirmation, setting the stage for the inauguration of a new team expected to drive the administration’s governance agenda.
The nominations, submitted in line with the relevant provisions of the laws establishing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils, cover appointments into the offices of Council Secretary, Supervisory Councilors and Senior Special Assistants.
The nominees are Hon. Umar Zagoi, Hon. Caleb Yakubu, Hon. Abubakar Ibrahim, Hon. Garba Salihu, Hon. Adamu Dahiru Danbaba, Hon. Umar Faruk Abubakar, Hon. Bala Wambai Dere, Arc. Suleiman Mohammed, Hon. Umar Danbai, Hon. Yusuf Isah, Hon. Garba Jibrin Baddess, Hon. Umar Inuwa Guzau, Mohammed Isah Hassan, Maimunat Mohammed Jimoh and Hon. Agu Okechukwu Samuel.
In the communication addressed to the Legislative Arm, the Executive Chairman urged the Honourable House to expedite the screening and confirmation process to enable the nominees assume office without delay and ensure the smooth commencement of official responsibilities.
The submission marks a significant step in the constitution of the Council’s political leadership and is expected to pave the way for the full implementation of the Chairman’s administrative and developmental programmes across Gwagwalada Area Council.
The request was conveyed in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Mustapha Yakubu.
