The African Action Congress (AAC), Kaduna State Chapter, has condemned the killing of kidnapped residents from Ariko and Awom villages in Kachia Local Government Area, describing the incident as another tragic indictment of Nigeria’s worsening security crisis.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Musa Muhammad, expressed profound grief over the deaths, saying the brutal murder of innocent citizens after months in captivity underscored the urgent need for decisive action to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and violent crimes across the country.
He described the killings as “barbaric, inhumane and completely unacceptable,” insisting that the continued loss of innocent lives reflects the failure to adequately protect vulnerable communities.
The opposition party extended its condolences to the bereaved families, the people of Kachia Local Government Area, and the entire Kaduna State, urging them to remain resilient in the face of the tragedy.
AAC called on the Federal Government, the Kaduna State Government, and security agencies to immediately strengthen security operations and ensure those responsible for the killings are tracked down, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.
The party also urged authorities not to abandon those still in captivity, stressing that victims from Ariko have now spent about 110 days in the hands of their abductors, while 11 kidnapped residents of Awom have remained in captivity for approximately 95 days.
According to the party, every effort must be made to secure the safe return of the remaining hostages, warning that prolonged captivity only deepens the humanitarian crisis confronting affected communities.
AAC further appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely intelligence capable of preventing future attacks and protecting lives and property.
While mourning the victims, the party prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls and asked God to grant their families the strength to bear what it described as an irreparable loss.
The statement reaffirmed the party’s commitment to advocating policies aimed at guaranteeing the security, welfare, and dignity of every Nigerian, insisting that no citizen should live in fear of abduction or violent death.
