A Facebook post by Zakka Ayidakyau TwaShesnubwo DozhiZa has sparked concern and public outrage after he revealed the heartbreaking condition of LEA Primary School Yangoji located in Yangoji, one of the oldest and largest communities in Kwali Area Council.
According to the post shared over the weekend, Zakka disclosed that he visited Yangoji last Saturday for a wedding ceremony but was shocked by the deteriorating state of infrastructure at the community’s primary school.
He revealed that a block of classrooms in the school currently has no roof, leaving pupils exposed to harsh weather conditions, while some children were seen sitting directly on the bare floor due to lack of desks and chairs.
The development has raised serious concerns about the learning environment and the future of children in the community, especially considering the historical importance and population size of Yangoji.
While he noted that the blame should not be placed solely on the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Zakka questioned the role of the current ward councilor, who he stated is from Yangoji and lives just a few minutes away from the school.
He expressed concern that if the councilor truly cared about the welfare of the people and the future of their children, the situation of the school would not have deteriorated to such a level.
Zakka also raised concerns about the school’s leadership, stating that the Headmaster and school management may also be failing the pupils by not adequately escalating the issue to higher authorities.
He further emphasized that the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) could have taken interim measures, including providing basic seating arrangements for pupils while pushing for government intervention.
In his appeal, he called on the Ward Councilor and the Kwali Area Council Chairman to urgently look into the situation and address the infrastructure challenges facing the school.
“Yangozhi yi Gbari Zhin, yi ga wo pa kmi ba ya e jimgma’m,” he wrote, urging leaders and stakeholders to prioritize the future of children in the community.
Zakka also announced that videos showing the current condition of the school will be released to further draw public attention to the situation.
Residents and concerned citizens have since begun calling for urgent intervention, stressing that improving educational infrastructure in rural communities remains critical to securing the future of the Area Council, the Federal Capital Territory, and Nigeria at large.
Chronicles Reporters gathered that stakeholders are now urging authorities, community leaders, and development partners to step in before the situation worsens.
The call continues for public support and awareness as community members push to save the future of pupils at LEA Primary School Yangoji.
