A leading advocate for transparency, women empowerment and community development, Tracy McWary has officially declared her intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Bende Federal Constituency, pledging people-focused representation and measurable development across Bende North and Bende South.

In a strongly worded statement titled “A Call to Serve,” McWary expressed deep commitment to the people of Bende, describing her ambition as a continuation of years of grassroots service rather than a new political journey.

“My heart beats for every village, every household, every hardworking family across Bende North and Bende South,” she stated, referencing communities including Igbere, Item, Alayi, Ugwueke, Ozuitem, Uzuakoli, Umuimenyi/Nkpa, Akoliufu, Bende Town, Itumbauzo, Okporoenyi, Ntalakwu, Etitiulo, and Umuhuezechi.

McWary highlighted critical challenges facing the constituency, particularly poor rural road networks, non-mechanized farming, and limited access to agricultural loans and support systems. She promised to advocate for policies that would modernize agriculture and ease economic hardship for farmers.

Addressing youth concerns, she criticized what she described as the cycle of political exploitation, where young people are mobilized during elections but sidelined afterward.

“Our youths deserve real employment, not exploitation,” she said, promising to champion enterprise grants, skills acquisition programs, and sustainable job creation initiatives.

On women empowerment, McWary called for inclusion beyond rhetoric, emphasizing leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and improved access to quality healthcare services.

McWary pointed to her work through the Tracy McWary Foundation, where she has supported vulnerable families, mentored young people, and empowered women entrepreneurs.

Through the Miss Amnesty Nigeria platform, she has also promoted women’s leadership and economic independence, creating opportunities for young women to build confidence and pursue economic growth.

She further referenced her experience in the Presidential Amnesty Office, where she claimed to have upheld integrity and transparency in public service.

“There is visible transformation today because I chose integrity over compromise,” she noted, adding that she resisted corruption and misuse of public resources, even at personal cost.

Aligning herself with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC), McWary pledged to attract federal presence to rural communities through modern schools, functional hospitals, ICT centres, and infrastructure development.

Her proposed priorities include:

• Bringing federal projects to underserved villages

• Expanding youth employment and enterprise grants

• Implementing structured women empowerment programs across all 13 wards in Bende Federal Constituency

• Ensuring women’s participation in decision-making processes

• Promoting transparency and accountability in representation

• Strengthening legislative oversight to protect public funds

Describing her ambition as a collective movement rather than a personal quest, McWary called for unity across the constituency.

“Bende North and Bende South deserve representation that understands sacrifice, respects the people, and delivers measurable results,” she said.

With her declaration, the political landscape in Bende Federal Constituency is expected to witness increased engagement as stakeholders begin consultations ahead of the electoral season.

McWary concluded her statement with a rallying call:

“This is our moment. This is our unity. This is our service in action.”
