The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed operatives across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to monitor the Saturday, February 21, 2026 council elections.
According to a press release issued by the Commission, the deployment is part of its efforts to safeguard electoral integrity and curb voter inducement, vote buying, and other forms of electoral malpractice.
The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, directed officers to maintain strict surveillance across all council areas and ensure transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process.
The Commission stated that its personnel are stationed across the FCT to monitor compliance with electoral laws and deter financial crimes linked to the polls.
