Escalating violence in southern Lebanon has led to the deaths of three journalists and ten soldiers, Lebanese officials reported. The Ministry of Health confirmed that three journalists were killed and three others injured in an attack on their accommodation in Hasbaya.
Lebanese Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, condemned the attack on his X account, calling it a “premeditated assassination.” He stated, “The Israeli enemy waited for the journalists to rest at night, betraying them in their sleep. For months, they have covered the field, exposing crimes. This was a deliberate assassination, with 18 journalists from seven media organizations present at the scene. This is a war crime.”
Minister Makary paid tribute to the fallen journalists Ghassan Najjar, Muhammad Reda, and Wissam Qassem, extending condolences to their families and the media outlets Al-Mayadeen and Al-Manar TV.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the deaths of ten soldiers involved in combat in Lebanon, clarifying that these fatalities were not recent but had been officially confirmed only after notifying the soldiers’ families.
