The United Arab Emirates has deported 400 Nigerians, comprising 90 women and 310 men, as reported by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). The deportees arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where they were met by officials from the National Security Adviser’s office, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), among other agencies.

In a related development, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other stakeholders recently received 103 Nigerians deported from Turkey. These individuals arrived at the same airport on Friday at 7:00 pm, through the pilgrims’ wing, and were welcomed by Federal Government officials led by NEMA.

Additionally, 264 Nigerian travelers discovered upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Hajj Terminal in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 13, 2023, that their visas had been canceled.

In response to these incidents, the Federal Government of Nigeria has urged for calm and reassured the public about handling the deportation issues.
