On Sunday, the Lagos State government shut down a restaurant owned by celebrity bartender Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest. The restaurant, named Donald’s, had been operating around the clock since its launch in August.
Tokumbo Wahab, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, announced the closure via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Wahab explained that the restaurant was closed due to persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.
In a statement, Wahab said, “Despite multiple warnings and abatement notices, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (@LasepaOfficial) has sealed Donald’s Fast Food on Adebayo Doherty Street, Lekki 1. This action was taken in response to noise pollution and other environmental issues.”
