At least 71 Palestinians were killed and 289 others injured following an attack on a camp for war-displaced individuals in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Saturday.
Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis is experiencing an unprecedented crisis, struggling to manage the overwhelming number of casualties.
Health officials at the hospital reported on Saturday that the facility is “no longer able to function” due to the overwhelming volume of patients needing urgent care.
Officials at Nasser Medical Complex, Gaza’s largest operating hospital, noted that the intensity of Israel’s military offensive and severe shortages in medical supplies have left doctors unable to provide adequate care for the numerous casualties.
Gaza’s health ministry informed Reuters that Nasser Hospital had received 20 bodies and 90 injured people from the Israeli attack in Khan Younis.
However, the ministry did not provide a final count of victims transferred to other medical facilities.
