Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, announced on Monday that President Bola Tinubu has approved several key appointments in the Police Service Commission (PSC). DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) has been appointed as the new Chairman of the PSC. Chief Onyemuche Nnamani has been appointed as Secretary, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as a Member of the Commission. These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation, and additional members of the PSC will be appointed in the future.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) with immediate effect. The President expects the appointees to demonstrate integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in their roles for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
