Nigeria, is getting better by the day. The next level has transitioned the country to a state of only God knows. The change of currency by CBN, is commendable, it is to retrieve the excess money hoarded by private individuals and return financial control back to the apex bank. Yes! we understand the policy but the ultimatum of retrieval has inflicted much pains on the ordinary citizens.
For the first time there is a bridge of contract between the banks and her customers. We are faced with the tragedy of buying our own money from the hands of money agents at exorbitant percentage. Yet the government have resorted to the gimmicks of politics to prevail her agenda with the impression of working for the betterment of Nigerians. What a hell.
Since we operate a country where feedbacks aren’t necessary, the government have been disconnected from the plights of the people. You can’t imagine the casualties this few days because a good policy was implemented at the wrong timing.
I call on the government to act swiftly because the aftermaths of this hardship may spark an aggression among the citizens which may deteriorate to a criminally tensed situation forcing the rats out of their hideouts.
Thanks to Mr. President, two hundred naira is now an acceptable legal tender but following presidential endorsement, the money are not readily available. With the tension of fuel scarcity, naira note unavailability and the rate of inflation, the country is now seating on a time bomb and whoever is advising the president must do so with empathy because there could be an eruption of violence.
