Former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has lost his son, Faisal Ahmed, in a tragic road accident that occurred on the Kaduna-Zaria Highway.
According to a family source, Faisal was involved in a crash on Saturday evening and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His father, the former governor, was present at the hospital, and the deceased’s body has since been taken home for burial preparations.
Although the family did not officially confirm details of the accident, the source revealed that Faisal was declared dead shortly after being transported to the hospital. The incident has deeply saddened many, with condolences pouring in, including from social activist and former senator, Shehu Sani. In his message, Sani expressed his sympathies, saying, “Just received the sad news of the death of Faisal the son of HE Senator Ahmed Makarfi. May Allah grant him Aljanna firdausi. Amin.”
Faisal, a civil engineer by profession, received his early education at Kaduna International School before attending Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State, for his secondary education. He furthered his studies at the University of Greenwich in London, where he obtained both undergraduate and masterβs degrees and had enrolled for a PhD at the same institution.
Makarfi, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was not available for comment at the time of reporting.
