A woman and her two sons sustained gunshot wounds when suspected hoodlums attacked the apartment of an FCDA director in Unguwar Zango, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT. According to Ibrahim Abubakar, a neighbor, the incident took place around 12:23 a.m. on Friday when the criminals, armed with pistols and machetes, stormed the compound.

Abubakar explained that some of the attackers scaled the back fence of the compound, heading straight for the apartment of the FCDA director who resides there.

Once inside, the hoodlums managed to break open the main door and proceeded directly to one of the rooms, where they demanded phones and laptops from the occupants. “As they shouted for phones and laptops, I suddenly heard a gunshot, and none of us could dare come out for fear of being attacked,” Abubakar recalled.

Although the director, their primary target, managed to hide within the house, the attackers stole laptops, an iPhone, and other valuables. After approximately 30 minutes, the criminals fled the scene.

It was only then that some neighbors gathered the courage to check on the victims and found the woman and her two sons lying in a pool of blood inside the house. The victims were immediately rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.

The FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, had not responded to inquiries about the incident at the time of this report.
