According to witnesses speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, Bobrisky attempted to cross the Seme border around 1:30 a.m. on Monday. He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz SUV. Sources indicate that he was initially halted by Port Health officials on duty, but the vehicle did not stop until it reached the Immigration checkpoint.

Once there, Bobrisky handed his passport to the driver for processing at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) post. An immigration surveillance officer, identified as Yusuf, reviewed the passport and quickly recognized that the individual in the vehicle was Bobrisky.

Yusuf then called over the most senior officer present and discreetly summoned the Controller of Immigration at Seme Command, Mr. Muhammad Adamu. Afterward, the officer returned to invite Bobrisky for processing. Upon arriving at the surveillance unit for the required capture, he was directed to the controller’s office for questioning, according to one source.

Another witness reported that Bobrisky’s lawyer arrived at Seme to understand the reasons behind the arrest by immigration personnel. He remained in the controller’s office until approximately 4:00 p.m. before being transported to the Lagos State Command of NIS for further investigation.

The NIS confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest at the Seme Border. Mr. Kenneth Udo, the Public Relations Officer for the Service, stated that Bobrisky was apprehended as he is “a person of interest concerning recent issues of public concern.” Udo further elaborated in a statement issued from Abuja that the NIS intercepted Bobrisky while he attempted to leave the country.

He noted that Bobrisky is currently being interrogated and will be transferred to the appropriate authorities for subsequent actions.
