The Edo State Police Command on Friday paraded an 18-year-old boy, Kingdom Paul, for allegedly stabbing his 38-year-old lover, Victory Oro, to death in a hotel located in Benin City. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday, September 5, when the two had gone to a local lodge for a sexual encounter.
According to the state Police Spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu, the fatal stabbing occurred after an altercation broke out between Paul and Oro shortly after their sexual activity. Yamu revealed that Oro was rushed to a hospital on Upper Ekenwan Road, where she eventually died. Her body has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
The police report stated: “On September 5, 2024, around 12:00 noon, officers from the Evbuotubu Division, acting on a tip-off, arrested one Kingdom Paul, 18, who had stabbed a lady named Victory Oro, 38, in a lodge where they went to have fun. The victim was immediately taken to Supreme Hospital, Upper Ekenwan, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her body is now in the mortuary awaiting an autopsy. Investigations are still ongoing.”
In his confession, Kingdom Paul admitted to the crime, explaining that the attack occurred after a disagreement over the agreed payment of N2,000 for their encounter. Despite having paid her the agreed sum, the situation escalated, leading to the fatal outcome.
The police have assured that Paul will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
