The British Army has launched a new recruitment campaign, specifically targeting Nigerians and other citizens from Commonwealth nations, for various roles within its armed forces.

This recruitment period will run from August 19, 2024, to August 26, 2024. The British Army is seeking candidates from Nigeria to fill positions such as musicians, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Royal Engineers Technicians, tradesmen, and paratroopers. The British Army highlighted the significant contributions of Commonwealth soldiers to its ranks, underscoring their ongoing value within the organization.

Applicants must register under the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, with the exception of those applying for musician roles. As part of the selection process, candidates will need to complete several fitness assessments, including the multistage fitness test (beep test), seated ball throw, and mid-thigh pull.

The British Army advises potential recruits to quit smoking and follow a balanced diet to prepare for these tests. Successful candidates will be required to travel to the UK for further evaluation in October and November 2024, with basic training slated to begin between January and March 2025.
