Superstar singer and Grammy Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has taken a swipe at his rival, David Adeleke, known as Davido.
Two weeks ago, Davido married his longtime girlfriend, Chioma, in a high-profile event. The couple is currently overseas for their honeymoon. However, a fresh crisis has emerged during their honeymoon as Davido is embroiled in a child custody battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
On Friday night, Davido called out Sophia for referencing the death of his son, Ifeanyi, who drowned in a swimming pool accident at his Lagos mansion, in her counter suit. Davido expressed his frustration on X, saying, “You’re constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point you can just to remind us of this tragedy that haunts us every day of our lives. Imade will grow up to see I fought for her. For now, you can have her. P.S. she won’t be a child forever. Enjoy ❤️ Imade Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you!”
Following this, fellow artist Dammy Krane mocked Davido, recalling the pain of Tagbo’s mother, whose son Tagbo allegedly died due to Davido’s involvement. Dammy Krane posted on X, “I’m boldly saying @davido has a hand in Tagbo’s death. If I’m lying, they should sue me. Make everything cast for court. I’m ready to help spread all his dirty linen in public.”
Burna Boy intervened, asking Dammy Krane to take down the post. He wrote, “Bro, WTF are you doing?? Take this down now! Make me and you no get problem abeg. No be like this we dey handle differences.” Burna Boy later tweeted on his X account: “‘Odogwu too wise’ who no hear go feel.”
A fan then commented, advising Burna Boy to start planning for his future by getting married and starting a family, using Davido as an example. Burna Boy responded in pidgin, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, you nor see wetin him dey face like dis?” Another user criticized Burna Boy for his response, to which he replied, “Ok. But between me and you, Shey na betta example the guy use?”
Another user asked Burna Boy if Adekunle Gold was a better example. Burna Boy agreed, saying, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros,” referring to Adekunle Gold’s relationship with his wife, Simi.
Davido has yet to comment on the ongoing drama.
