
Dr. Doris Uzoka Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, has disclosed that the ongoing EndBadGovernance protest has resulted in economic losses estimated at N500 billion.
In a post shared on her official X handle, she expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and the widespread destruction caused by the protests.
According to her post, approximately N52 billion worth of goods have been destroyed, and the death toll has risen to 21. She highlighted that the looting during the protests represents a significant setback for businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide.
“The loss of lives during the protests is deeply saddening. My thoughts are with the affected families,” she stated. “The looting, which has resulted in billions lost, is a severe blow to our economy and entrepreneurs. We must honor those we’ve lost by pursuing more peaceful and constructive dialogue.”
