General Innocent Orji, the commander of the Biafra National Guard (BNG), has firmly declared that he will never lay down his arms, even if approached for negotiations by Nigerian authorities.
In an exclusive interview with NewsBand Newspaper on Tuesday night, Orji stated his unwavering stance amidst reports of efforts to unite pro-Biafra groups for talks with the Nigerian government.
When questioned by NewsBand about the possibility of the Biafra National Guard engaging in a round table discussion for lasting peace in the Southeast, Orji unequivocally rejected the idea.
“I will never accept any form of negotiation that requires me to surrender my arms for monetary gains,” Orji asserted. He emphasized that he would not agree to any discussions even if initiated by Southeast leaders.
When asked if he would consider laying down his arms for compensation, Orji responded, “Absolutely no… I won’t.”
He further declared, “Biafran freedom is non-negotiable. No amount of offer can quench the struggle because Biafra is a spirit.”
