Youths in Niger State have taken to the streets to protest against the hardships in Nigeria, holding placards with messages such as “Enough is Enough,” “Stop Anti-Masses Policies,” “We Are Not Slaves In Our Country,” “Hardship Is Unbearable,” and “Fuel Subsidy Must Be Back.”
The protesters marched along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway in Suleja Local Government Area, chanting anti-government songs to express their frustration, as reported by Daily Trust. This demonstration reflects the increasing dissatisfaction among citizens with economic policies they believe are worsening their living conditions, with demands for the return of fuel subsidies highlighting the financial strain many are experiencing.
When contacted by SaharaReporters, Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Niger State Command, asked for time to confirm the situation. However, by the time of the report, he had not yet responded.
Additionally, Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow, released a list of 15 demands from Nigerians to President Bola Tinubu’s administration. These demands, published on Sowore’s X account, aim to address the country’s governance challenges and are the result of inputs from Nigerians participating in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign.
